Active Grow was founded in Seattle, Washington in 2016 by Taylor Schaberg, after nearly a decade working with commercial LED manufacturers in China. Inspired by firsthand research on a commercial farm, Taylor discovered how LED spectrum could be tuned to positively impact plant biology—long before PAR, PPFD, and full-spectrum data were widely understood in horticulture.

From day one, Active Grow set out to build more than just great grow lights. The mission: to provide growers with transparent data, sustainable technology, and lighting solutions designed for real-world performance—not marketing hype.
